Filter Media Sand

FILTER MEDIA SAND

Filter media sand are used as a step in the water treatment process of water purification. Importance of filter sand is to work for physical treatment (catching the turbidity component suspended) in rapid filtration and for biological treatment in slow filtration. High quality filter sand requires the proper angularity, hardness, spherecity and size. Filter Sand improves efficiency by reducing retention time and head pressure loss with greater flow rates.
  • Filter Sand is all-natural, environmentally safe product
  • Angular shape of the uncrushed filter sand promotes good flow and even distribution
  • Reduces the load on downstream equipment
  • Cost Effective
  • Appearance : Yellowish to off white
  • Silica Content: 90- 99%
  • Ignition Loss: 0.3-0.7%
  • Acid Solubility: 1-2%
  • Impurities: 1-3%
  • Specific Gravity: 2.5 – 2.65
  • Uniformity Coefficient: 1.3- 1.7
  • Effective Size: 0.45-0.7 mm

SUPPORT GRAVELS

SUPPORT GRAVELS

Support gravel is used in the lower strata of a filter bed as a support to filter media . For maximum efficiency, the gravel must posses necessary attributes of hardness and be rounded or non-angular. The gravel, like filter sand, contains hard durable particles with a slow breakdown rate. This helps to prolong filter media life. The gravel is screened into different sizes which effectively supports the filter media.Correct gradation and sizing must be calculated to properly support the filter media.
  • Free of organic impurities
  • l The grains are smooth and rounded or sub-angular
  • It is made of hard, insoluble, siliceous material
  • Uniform in size
  • Color: Multi colour
  • Shape: Naturally pherical
  • Bulk Density: 1550 – 1800 Kg/m3
  • Size: 0.5 – 4 inch
  • Acid Solubility: 2-10 %
  • Specific Gravity: 2.5-2.70
